Set in a far-flung community in the Philippines, you step into the shoes of a young girl and experience her perilous journey towards achieving education. Immerse in a remote countryside surrounded by natural landscapes and indigenous Filipino culture. Meet countryfolk, pass dangerous paths, and swim through water to make your way to school.

Advocacy

The Yellow Boat Reimagined sheds a light on the issue of lack of access to education in many remote areas in the Philippines. The game utilizes Virtual Reality technology to simulate the experience and put players in the place of children who experience this adversity on a daily basis. 

The game is made in partnership with a non-profit organization, Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, which primarily funds school boats for many communities in the country. The game aims to purvey their advocacy and inspire people to help through means of donation and support.

The Yellow Boat Reimagined (originally The Yellow Boat) was created as a Capstone project for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the Philippines. It has garnered several awards from the local game scene such as: Best VR Game, Best Game Narrative and Story (Game On 2019), and Game of the Year (Game On 2018). 

NOTICE: Game requires an HTC Vive (virtual reality headset) — (Soon to be available for Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest!)
